Deadline Extended | Title VIII Short-Term Grant & George F. Kennan Fellowship

The Kennan Institute is pleased to announce its competitions for both the Title VIII Short-Term Grant and the George F. Kennan Fellowship.

Title VIII Short-Term Grants

This grant is for those scholars whose research in the social sciences or humanities focuses on Russia, Ukraine, and the countries of Eurasia, and who demonstrate a particular need to utilize the library, archival, and other specialized resources of the Washington, D.C. area. Policy-relevant research is preferred. Applicants are required to hold an MA degree or higher, or demonstrate commensurate professional achievement. Applicants must be U.S. citizens.

George F. Kennan Fellowship

Fellows will be based at the Wilson Center in Washington, D.C. for three-month residencies focused on diverse, policy-oriented sectors such as media, business, local government, law, civil society, and academia to examine important political, social, economic, cultural, and historical issues in Russia, Ukraine, and Eurasia. There are no citizenship requirements for this grant.

Applicants may apply individually or as a team. If applying as a team of two applicants, the applicants must be citizens of at least two different countries.
