Book Talk | March 1917, Book 3
March 1917, Book 3, which is part of Solzhenitsyn’s multivolume epic The Red Wheel about the Russian Revolution, describes how the forces of revolutionary disintegration begin to spread from Petrograd to the front lines of World War I. The action takes place from March 16 to March 22 as the Romanov dynasty ends. In this book talk, panelists Daniel Mahoney, translator Marian Schwartz, and Stephan Solzhenitsyn will discuss the just-published English translation of the latest release. They will consider how the actions in this book presaged Russia’s collapse.
